solocosmo is the artwork of Jessica von Braun, working out of Dallas, Texas.
The work is whimsical and childhood inspired: digital painting, photo manipulation and collage, built up out of her own photographs, stock imagery and public domain material. Big eyes, fairy tales, and the slightly unsettling thing standing just behind them. Alice, Hansel and Gretel, a ghost girl in a field of flowers.
Everything here is printed to order in the United States. Canvas is gallery wrapped and ready to hang, poster prints are struck on heavyweight archival paper, and the acrylic panels are float mounted with a face like glass. The same paintings turn up on spiral journals, vegan leather clutches, cotton totes, oval pendants and jigsaw puzzles.
Off the easel she is a wife and mother, keeper of chickens, one pug and several cats, and is busy more or less always. She also writes: the Falling Stars trilogy, The Salt-Laced House, and the Lightbound Library reprint line, published under Solocosmo Press.
